Police investigating suspected teen abduction

Police in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula area are appealing for information after a teenage girl was allegedly abducted on Monday.

Victoria Police confirmed detectives were investigating the incident, which is said to have occurred on Cain Street in the beachside town of Rye, south-east of Melbourne.

“A teenage girl told police that she was abducted by a man in a white van just after 5pm and that she woke up at McRae Beach near the lighthouse just after 7pm,” a spokesperson said.

“Investigators are still trying to determine what occurred.”
