Greedy adult ejected from Easter egg hunt
A greedy woman was kicked out of a charity Easter egg hunt after hoarding chocolate eggs, in supermarket bags, from the children.
The woman, aged in her 30s, joined hundreds of kids on Saturday in an annual Victorian egg hunt which supported Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
But CEO, and father of the late Zaidee Turner, Allan Turner, told Fairfax radio she had an unfair advantage and was clearly hoping to stock up for next year.
• Don’t be ashamed: Easter eggs can be good for you
• Which Easter eggs are the best? The kids decide
• Test your eggs-pertise
“She was not just filling her little bucket, this lady thought she’d bring in a few shopping bags and fill them up as well,” he said.
“One of our volunteers kindly asked this lady to stop and move on and with that some harsh words came from the mouth of this lady and we thought it was time to bring security in.
“No good reason was given except she said ‘You cannot stop me doing this’.”
Mr Turner said the eggs were spread out on the grass for the kids and adults to collect in small buckets – but said the woman clearly wanted “a 12 months supply of Easter eggs”.
Donations to the foundation can be made to zaidees.org, which focuses on organ and tissue donation awareness.
