A woman has been arrested overt the fatal stabbing of a man at a house in Melbourne’s east.

Ambulance crews were called to the property in Ringwood about 8:30pm on Saturday.

The victim, aged in his 40s, was found with what was thought to be a stab wound.

Paramedics tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was arrested and is being questioned by police.

It is believed the pair knew each other.
