MP to hear first-hand of nursing home financial worries
The Victorian Opposition has raised doubt about the long-term viability of a Sunraysia aged care facility.
Jacaranda Village in Red Cliffs has admitted it could struggle in future after $200,000 was cut from its annual budget two years ago.
Last week, the State Government agreed to fund a financial audit.
Labor’s Jenny Mikakos says she will use a visit today to meet the facility’s staff and better understand the situation they are facing.
“Together with Candy Broad, who’s the Member for Northern Victoria, and find out for myself what the concerns are there,” she said.
“It’s clear that this has come about because of changes to the way that the State Government funds Jacaranda Village.”
