Child killed in 4WD incident on Tasmania’s west coast
A child has been killed in a four wheel driving tragedy on Tasmania’s west coast.
The boy, 3, was with a group of family and friends on a long weekend holiday when he was run over near Trial Harbour, west of Zeehan, about 11:00am Sunday.
Sergeant Renee Stewart says the driver was conducting a low speed manoeuvre on the popular Clymies Track when the child was hit.
A helicopter was sent to the scene but the boy died before it got there.
“It is a tragic event to lose such a young child,” Sergeant Stewart said.
It is believed the child’s mother was not with the group but members of his family were.
