Happy Birthday to Agricultural Science at UTAS
Five decades of agricultural science is being celebrated at the University of Tasmania today.
The first intake of students in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science at UTAS was in 1963 and today more than 200 alumni and staff will be joining in two days of celebrations.
Dr Peter Lane from the School of Agriculture says the University contributes graduates and research to Australia and around the world.
“We’re going to have a big celebration.
50 years is a long time and agricultural science has been a big part of the University, and a big part of the Tasmanian economy.”
