Car thief flees into the night after ramming SA police patrol

The driver of a stolen car is on the run in Adelaide after a chase that ended with a police car being rammed on a quiet dead-end street.

The stolen Holden Cruze,  was spotted by police in suburban Blair Athol just after 1am on Saturday.

Police say it sped off sparking a short pursuit that ended in a street in nearby Enfield.

Police allege the driver of the Holden then deliberately reversed into the patrol car twice before driving off.

The stolen car was later founded abandoned with a search continuing for the driver.

The officer inside the patrol car was not hurt.
