A man has been arrested over a suspicious death at a house in Adelaide.

Police say a 27-year-old Adelaide man was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon and is being questioned.

The body of a 47-year-old man was found by police inside a house in Carrington Street, Adelaide, around 8.30am local time on Sunday.

Police say the time and cause of death are unknown but an autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

However, they were called to the house after they received a report a man had died.

They say the 27-year-old man is expected to be charged on Sunday night and face court on Monday.
