Queensland police have caught two of three men who escaped from one of the state’s prisons at the weekend.

Police said two men, aged 32 and 20, had been intercepted by police in the Brisbane suburb of Northgate about 10am on Monday.

They are in police custody, after allegedly escaping from the Palen Creek Correctional Centre, about 100 kilometres south-west of Brisbane on Sunday.

A third man, 28-year-old Antonio David Mene, remained on the run.

Mene was described by police as being Torres Strait Islander, about 170 centimetres tall with the outline of his last name tattooed on the inside of his right arm. He also has a full-calf tattoo, tattooed dots on his thumb and the word “Menzie” tattooed nearby.

Mene was serving three years for vehicular offences.

Police said he should not be approached, and anyone who sees him should call triple zero.
