Passenger breaks neck in car flip

A 19-year-old passenger of an allegedly hooning driver is in hospital with a broken neck after the car flipped, police said.
The 20-year-old driver was charged with driving offences and public urination and is recovering from the crash with bruises and shock after the incident south of Brisbane.
Police aerial vision showed the family sedan doing burnouts before allegedly driving away from police and hitting a pole, which ended with the car flipping.

Police said the car drove through red lights and nearly hit another vehicle.
The crash occurred at about 11.15pm on Saturday in Yatala.
The forensic crash unit of the Queensland Police is investigating.

The driver was charged with wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, defective vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, registration offences, urinating in a public place and fail to stop.
He was scheduled to front the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
