Police are investigating the death of a woman they found stabbed in a home south of Brisbane.

Police say they were called to a home in Boronia Heights about 11.30pm on Sunday and found a 23-year-old Southport woman with a serious stab wound.

She died despite receiving first aid from police.

A 41-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man, both known to the victim, are assisting police with their inquiries.
