Young girl on life support after car collides with kangaroo
A young girl is fighting for her life in hospital after the car she was in collided with a kangaroo on Queensland’s Darling Downs.
Police say the accident happened just after 3:00am AEST on the Warrego Highway at Kingsthorpe, north-west of Toowoomba.
The kangaroo went through the front windscreen of the car, which was carrying two adults and two children.
A five-year-old girl was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The other child and the two adults were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a woman has died in a separate crash on the Bruce Highway near Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast.
Two cars were involved in the accident just before 5:00am.
A female passenger was killed, while both male drivers only suffered injuries.
