The search for a 21-year-old international student who was swept out to sea on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has entered its third day.

The man, from Saudi Arabia, was knocked off rocks by a large wave while sightseeing with friends off Noosa Heads on Tuesday night.

A major air and sea search has so far failed to find any trace of him.

Police say there is now little hope of finding the missing student alive.
