A man has been charged with murder after his father was found unresponsive in a Darwin pool.

Police were called to a home in Moil in Darwin’s north on Sunday evening where they found a 71-year-old man unresponsive in the pool.

The man was declared dead at the scene and his cause of death is yet to be determined.

His 29-year-old son was arrested at the home and a crime scene was declared.

Police deemed the death suspicious and charged the man with murder.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Local Court on Monday.
