Investigations into a spate of antisemitic attacks have stepped up as NSW Police link multiple incidents from a graffiti spree and lay charges over an arson strike.

Police believe several incidents in Sydney’s east are tied, including graffiti on a school in Maroubra, at a shopping centre in Eastgardens and two homes in January.

They want to speak to two men seen in CCTV footage in a white SUV in the vicinity of the attacks.

The male passenger in the car is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a thin build, last seen wearing a blue jumper with an orange liner, a white medical mask, dark pants and brown shoes.

The driver is described as having a large build and was last seen wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap.

NSW Police have also charged a second man allegedly involved in an antisemitic attack where cars were set on fire and buildings damaged in a suburb with a large Jewish population.

Graffiti including “Kill Israiel” (sic) was sprayed on buildings and footpaths in the suburb.

The December 11 incident at Woollahra in Sydney’s east caused an estimated $20,000 damage.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man on Tuesday and charged him with participating in a criminal group, damaging property and driving a stolen vehicle.

He was arrested at Parklea Correctional Centre, where he was in custody on unrelated charges.

The 36-year-old will face court on his fresh charges on April 3.

A woman, Tammie Farrugia, 34, previously faced court over the same incident. She is accused of participating in a criminal group, damaging property and being carried in a stolen car.

Both investigations have been taken over by the NSW Police task force targeting antisemitism, Strike Force Pearl.
