Man charged over crash that killed four people

A man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death after four people died in a two-vehicle crash on the NSW central coast.
About 9.20pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Tomingley, about 35 kilometres south of Dubbo, to find a Toyota Hilux ute and a Toyota Hiace van had collided.
Two men in the ute, aged 19 and 18, and a man and a woman in the van, both aged 57, died at the scene, police said.
The older victims have been named in media as husband and wife Sue and Graham Tait, from Parkes, and teenagers Joey Urban and Lochie Jacobs.
A 23-year-old man who was driving the ute was taken to Dubbo Hospital with suspected leg injuries.
On being discharged on Monday, he was charged with four counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, driving in a dangerous manner, not wearing a seatbelt properly fastened and driving with passenger seatbelts not properly fastened.
The man was given conditional bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on October 21.
Police said all of those involved in the accident were locals from the greater NSW central-west region.

Parkes Shire Council deputy mayor Marg Applebee said the Taits would be remembered for their work within the local community.
The couple had five children aged 16 to 26.
Urban’s sister posted a photo of the killed teens saying: “I will drink a few Tooheys for you.”
“I love you so incredibly much, you will be missed by so many,” she said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
