One man is dead and another is in hospital following a stabbing at a northern NSW home.

Emergency services were called to a property on Oxford Street in Kingscliff, south of Tweed Heads, just after 8pm on Tuesday, where they found two men seriously injured.

Police found a 29-year-old man with a stab wound. He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.

The 66-year-old occupant of the home was also airlifted to hospital with significant arm injuries.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is ongoing.

Police are searching for a third man believed to have been with the 29-year-old prior to the incident.
