Daughter arrested in Sydney mum’s slaying

A woman has died and her daughter has been arrested in a suspected domestic violence-related murder in Sydney’s west.

Police arrived to a St Clair home about 11.40pm on Saturday after reports of an argument between two women and found the body of a 57-year-old woman inside the home.

She had multiple injuries, NSW Police said in a statement.

Her 25-year-old daughter was arrested in the front yard of a neighbour’s home.

A four-year-old boy, who was at home at the time, suffered a minor head injury and was treated at the Westmead Children’s Hospital before being released.

A knife has been seized for forensic examination and several crime scenes have been established inside the home.

Support is being provided to first responders at the scene, police said.
