Man allegedly stabbed dad to death after computer row
A 20-year-old Sydney man has been charged with murder and denied bail after police allege he stabbed his father to death over an argument about a computer.
Police said 56-year-old Stephen Chapman was stabbed multiple times during an argument with his son Daniel Chapman their home in Josephine Crescent in Moorebank about 8.40pm on Sunday.
Paramedics assisted Stephen Chapman at the scene, but he died on the way to hospital.
Daniel Chapman was arrested at the home and charged with murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Ken Hardie said police would allege the argument was about a computer at the house, which the family had disagreements about in the past.
“I believe the son uses the internet quite regularly and when he is asked to come to the dinner table he continues on,” Detective Chief Inspector Hardie.
He did not apply for bail when he appeared at Parramatta Local Court this morning and it was formally refused.
Chapman is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.
Police said a crime scene had been established and was being forensically examined.
