It’s not exactly The Fast and the Furious, but a sluggish collision between a sedan and a large truck in a Sydney tunnel has plenty of fired-up viewers debating who was in the wrong.
The footage, captured by another driver’s dash camera, shows the car indicating to merge as a two-lane tunnel becomes a single lane, but the big rig either doesn’t see them or chooses to speed up anyway.
What results is a very slow and minor collision between the two vehicles, before the car driver seems to panic and quickly accelerate to move in front.
Despite lacking in drama and a fiery explosion, the footage has gone bonkers on the Facebook page, Dash Cam Owners Australia, with over 1000 users weighing in on who was at fault.
While a lot of vitriol was slung at the “selfish” truckie, many viewers pointed out that the car may have been in their blind spot.
A number of commenters also claimed that legally, the truck driver had right of way as he was already in the lane.
However, by far the most highly-rated comment came from a user who called for common sense.

“Everyone saying who’s at fault. Simple thing is this. If you can avoid having an accident, do so,” he wrote.
“I had a lady fail to give way to me at a roundabout the other day. Did I just blindly drive into the side of her or did I stop and let her carry on with a wave of apology?”
