NSW Premier apologises for sexist ‘banter’
NSW MP Jodi McKay has received an apology from NSW Premier Mike Baird over sexist remarks he made during question time.
Video uploaded by the member for Strathfield shows the premier insinuating Ms McKay is an attention seeker and likening her to a calendar pin-up.

• New Zealanders reject change to national flag
“Those comments were done as a bit of light banter,” Baird told reporters.
“Obviously if the member, if Jodi, is offended in anyway, or if anyone else is offended, of course I apologise.”
McKay earlier posted she didn’t think it was funny or appropriate.
We should be doing all we can to encourage women into leadership roles in NSW – this behaviour shows how far we still have to go. It is not funny nor is it appropriate to liken women seeking leadership to a ‘calendar shoot’. This is what happens when you take on the Premier of NSW in question time.

At the time of the jibe, Ms McKay was trying to move a point of order in the Legislative Assembly over Mr Baird’s comments on the NSW Electoral Commission’s investigation into Liberal Party funding.
McKay has yet to respond to the apology.
