A father who married off his 12-year-old daughter has been found guilty of procuring her for sex.

The 63-year-old New South Wales man, who cannot be named, held an Islamic ceremony at his home in January 2014 in which his daughter and a then 26-year-old man were “wed”.

Judge Deborah Sweeney, who had down her judgement on Wednesday, said the pair then went to a motel where they had sex.
