Boy, 8, dies after bicycle hit by car in Sydney
An eight-year-old boy has died after being hit by a four-wheel drive while riding his bike in Sydney’s west.
Police said the boy was hit at the intersection of Paddock Street and Capertree Street, The Ponds, about 5.45pm (AEDT).

He was treated at the scene by New South Wales ambulance paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where he died a short time later.
Police were interviewing the driver of the vehicle.
They were appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Quakers Hill Police.
