Deaths in multi-vehicle crash
Two people have been killed and five others injured, including children, in a crash involving three vehicles on the NSW north coast.
Two cars and a truck collided on the Pacific Highway at Woodburn, near Ballina, on Saturday morning causing closures in both directions.
A NSW ambulance spokeswoman confirmed two people died in the crash.
Another man aged in his 60s and a woman both had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency services.
The woman was airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition.
The man was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with chest pain, the spokeswoman said.
Three children, including one with a fractured arm, were taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
The highway is still closed in both directions two kilometres north of Woodburn.
The accident happened about 12 hours after three people were killed in a car crash on a wet road on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
