Girl in coma after collision
A 13-year-old girl is in an induced coma in hospital after she was hit a by a car on Sydney’s northern beaches.
The girl tried to cross Warringah Road in Narraweena with a group of friends just before 7:30pm last night when she was hit by a car.
CareFlight rescue helicopter director Ian Badham says she sustained severe head injuries.
“The 13-year-old girl remains in a critical condition at Royal North Shore Hospital, where she was flown by CareFlight after stabilisation at the scene on Waringah Road by the CareFlight doctor and ambulance paramedics,” he said.
The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
