NSW police officer charged with child rape

A New South Wales police officer has been charged with the rape of a child.

The male senior constable from the state’s Goulburn region has been charged with two offences, including having aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10.

He is also facing a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police say he was charged on April 17 and is due to appear in Goulburn local court on June 19.
