Murder charge over fatal stabbing in Sydney’s west

A man has been charged with murder after the stabbing death of another man in Sydney’s west yesterday.

Police were called to a home on Westbank Avenue in Emu Plains just after 5pm (AEDT), where they found a 59-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his torso.

Paramedics rushed the man to Nepean Hospital in a serious condition, but he later died.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged over the attack.

He was held in custody overnight and is due to appear in Penrith Local Court today.

Police say it appears the stabbing was triggered by a domestic dispute.
