Despite reports of relationship problems, US model and DJ Gabi Grecko has announced plans to marry her 71-year-old boyfriend, Australian medical entrepreneur Geoffrey Edelsten.

Last week, Grecko, 25, was hospitalised after telling tabloids that she had found dubious texts to other women on Edelsten’s phone.

However, when Edelsten collected Grecko from St Vincent’s hospital in Melbourne on Friday morning she assured reporters that they planned to stay together.

The newly engaged couple have been together since May, when Edelsten debuted his new flame at the funeral of football legend Tom Hafey.

Grecko told News Corp on Tuesday that the couple’s engagement was “more like a discussion than a proposal”.

“We wanted it to be a bit more romantic and we will definitely get to that.

“We haven’t picked out an exact date yet but we hope it will be in about eight months.”

Edelsten divorced former wife Brynne Edelsten earlier this year.
