Minor support for company tax cuts: poll
The Turnbull government’s highest priority should be to return the budget to surplus, according to a new poll.
A Sky News Omnipoll released on Thursday revealed that almost half of those surveyed said that the Coalition should focus on getting Australia’s budget back into positive territory.

Those surveyed believed this was more of a pressing issue than spending more on education and cutting personal income tax rates.
Only 3 per cent of voters said that the government should prioritise cutting company tax rates.
The government had recently been hinting a company tax cut could be a pressing area of reform becuase of its “growth dividend” and subsequent impact on jobs and wages.
The prospect of personal tax cuts were downplayed.
The poll was conducted online from March 17 to 21 with 1147 voters surveyed.
