In the video, Pistorius can be seen running alongside other athletes ending with the tagline ‘with the love of your life’.
The former sprint runner was recently convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, after having his manslaughter conviction overturned in an appeal.
The Daily Mail reports that no one from Rio2016 could confirm how the disgraced athlete made it into their marketing campaign.
Pistorius has been banned from competing in the Rio Games by the International Paralympic committee after initially receiving a manslaughter conviction in 2014.
He and his legal team are hoping to overturn the murder conviction in the Constitutional Court, with claims the Supreme Court of Appeal did not take his disability into account.
Legal experts doubt he will be successful in appealing.
