Spewing volcano grounds Bali flights once more
Virgin Airways has been forced to halt all flights to and from popular Australian holiday destination Bali because of dangerous volcanic ash.
The cancellation comes just over a week after thousands of tourists were stranded by eruptions from the same volcano, Mount Raung.

Virgin has cancelled 10 flights to and from the Indonesian resort island, after the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre said flying conditions near Denpasar airport were no longer safe.
“As a result of this advice, Virgin Australia has cancelled all flights in and out of Denpasar today,” the airline said in a statement.
The airline will provide an update at 6pm (AEST) about Thursday’s services.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely. The safety of our guests and crew is our highest priority and we will keep customers updated as new information becomes available,” it said.
Earlier this month, Jetstar also cancelled flights to Bali. Both airlines had to put on extra services in the days after flying conditions cleared to return Australians home.
A Jetstar spokesman said the airline was assessing the situation and would provide a statement shortly about its plans.
