‘Drive-by shooter’ wounds man
A man recovering in hospital from multiple gunshot wounds has survived a suspected drive-by shooting in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
The 37-year-old man was struck by bullets in his lower body on Monday morning, resulting in serious but not life threatening injuries.
It is believed the gunman drove away from the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback, although police could not confirm if a weapon was fired from inside or outside the vehicle.
Police are still trying to apprehend the alleged criminal, who is believed by authorities to be known to the victim.
The incident occurred at a property at Westbourne Grove, where ambulance crews treated the male victim just after 11am.
The victim was not a resident of a street where he was shot, and is known to police.
