World Cup pitch invader likely to be charged
A caped pitch invader with the slogan “I [Heart] Refugees” on his shirt will likely be charged for entering the MCG arena before the national anthems were played at the ICC World Cup Final police say.

While a pro-refugee advocate may not be your archetypal Bay 13 bogan, it is the second time he has been a pitch invader on the MCG.
His cape carried a similar pro-refugee slogan that said “End Offshore Detention”.
The 24-year-old from Sunshine in Melbourne’s western suburbs also ran onto the field during February’s Australia versus England match.

Victoria Police said he had been arrested and was likely to be charged with entering the field of play, on summons.
A similar refugee advocacy theme was the motivation for two activists who entered the court during February’s Australian Open Men’s Tennis Final on Rod Laver Arena.
