Police found six males in the car, aged between 15 and 17. The four in the back seat were not wearing seat belts.

The driver, a 15-year-old from Hampton Park, has been released pending summons.

He will be interviewed for excessive speed, conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving and other traffic-related offences.

The vehicle was impounded for 30 days; the owner will have to pay $733 to get it back.
