Speaking to Leigh Sales on ABC’s 7.30 on Monday night, Mr Pyne pronounced the senator’s surname as ‘Wong’.

After the backlash, Ms Sales went to the senator himself to get some clarity.

“It is Wong,” Mr Wang said. “Even though it’s spelled as Wang, it’s pronounced as Wong.”
