A male Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) officer cadet has been arrested by ACT police investigating two sexual assaults.

He was arrested on Tuesday, after two female officer cadets made allegations to ADFA staff on Monday.

The allegations were referred to the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service, which then referred them on to ACT Policing.

The alleged offences occurred in June 2013 and February 2014.

“Defence is providing all appropriate support to the individuals concerned,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
