Twitter reacts to carbon tax repeal
The carbon tax has today been repealed, with the repeal legislation successfully passing through the senate.
Thirty-nine senators voted in favour of the repeal and 32 opposed.

Liberal MPs took to Twitter to claim that a dead weight has been lifted from the Australian economy.

In a statement, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said that “this is great news for Australian families and for our nation’s small businesses”.

Greens Senator Penny Wright expressed her disappointment with the repeal, saying that the Greens would continue to campaign for environmental issues.
