Former AWU boss goes to KPMG
Former union boss Paul Howes will move into the corporate sector after taking a job with consulting firm KPMG.
Mr Howes announced his resignation as national secretary of the Australian Workers Union (AWU) in March, after nearly seven years at the helm.
He has been appointed as a director of KPMG’s advisory department, with the new role to begin in a fortnight.
The firm says the role will include consulting with clients in a range of areas, including business transformation and superannuation.
When announcing his resignation from the AWU, Mr Howes did not rule out the possibility of a future career in politics but said his immediate aim was a role in the private sector.
