Seven Network suing AFP
The Seven Network is suing the Australian Federal Police over its recent raid on their offices.
The Federal Court registry in Sydney confirmed to AAP the documents had been filed.
The AFP last week raided Seven’s offices in relation to the network’s expected interview in Bali with convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby.
Seven said last week it intended to sue the AFP.
The broadcaster labelled the raids as “outrageous”.
Seven’s commercial director Bruce McWilliam labelled the raids a gross overreaction.
“They barged in wanting to look at the payment registers which is completely outrageous,” he told News Corp Australia.
“It’s a big attack on the press. It’s terrible what’s happening.”
