AFP hasn’t found anything in raids: Seven

· Seven labels Corby raids “outrageous”

The head of Seven West Media says claims by the federal police that they have uncovered relevant documents as part of their raid at the company’s offices is false.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) raided the Sydney offices of the Seven Network as well as Seven’s Pacific Magazines title New Idea in relation to alleged payments to convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby.

Tim Worner, CEO of Seven West Media, said the document given to them by Seven during their visit on Tuesday was not covered by or requested in the previous production order.

“In any event the document had no legal effect as it is an unsigned draft which was never finalised,” Mr Worner said in a statement on Thursday.

“The production order only sought actual agreements.

“Thirty-four armed personnel were required to correct a drafting error in a massive over reaction.

“AFP believed what they read in the papers and are no doubt shocked to discover the truth.”
