McDonald’s hero: schoolboy pays for family’s food

A young McDonald’s worker has made a Queensland mother’s night by paying for her family’s food.
In a viral Facebook post, Danica Rodwell told how after realising she did not have enough money to cover her family’s order, the young man at the checkout of the Chinderah McDonald’s offered to pay instead.
“I am broke, exhausted, stressed beyond words and trying to scramble together a few dollars for my boys dinner on the long drive home I’ve realised at the checkout I don’t have enough,” she wrote.

“This beautiful young man instead of asking me to move out of the drive through as I was blocking others he paid for the lot -plus got a meal for me.”
After receiving the food, the grateful mother sat in tears in the fast food outlet’s car park.
According to her Facebook account, Ms Rodwell recently had her lease terminated earlier than expected and has been looking for a new house.
She said the young man wouldn’t give his name because he didn’t want recognition, but he did pose for a smiling photo, which she has shared on Facebook.
“He has restored my faith that there are good people left! Pay it forward I will… What a gorgeous young man!”
