INXS manager Chris Murphy says he has found a new version of the iconic Australian band.

In an interview with Fairfax, Murphy, who was recently portrayed in the Channel Seven INXS: Never Tear Us Apart miniseries, says Sydney five-piece Lepers & Crooks are the band to watch in Australia right now.

Murphy, who has recently started up a new management company, says he intends to take the unsigned band on tour and that they have the potential to be the next “stadium” brand.

“Everyone I’ve played that single to, from the head of Universal to the head of Live Nation to the people who manage Pearl Jam, have said who is that band and who is that singer? Can you believe these guys have not been approached by one record company in Australia?” he told Fairfax.
