Sunshine Coast makes smart list
The New York-based Intelligent Communities Forum has named the Sunshine Coast region as one of the world’s Smart21 Communities of 2014.
The Sunshine Coast and Coffs Harbour in New South Wales are the only two regions in Australia to make the list.
They have been recognised for embracing broadband technology to deliver economic opportunities that lead to new jobs, investment and social development.
The Smart21 will be narrowed to the Top7 communities in January, with the Intelligent Community of the Year to be announced next June.
