Homicide detectives have reportedly found human remains in the search for a missing woman who was allegedly kidnapped in Sydney’s northwest.
Family raised the alarm on Tuesday when the 58-year-old woman did not return to her home.
“Police were told family last had contact with the woman about 4:50pm on Monday 8 June 2026, when she advised she was meeting a relative in Winston Hills,” police said.
Her car was discovered the next morning, about 9:30am, on Dodson Street, Winston Hills.
“Police were notified and detectives established Strike Force Dizek to investigate the woman’s disappearance,” said NSW Police.
Detectives arrested a 33-year-old man on Thursday.
The man was sitting in a white Toyota Hilux in bushland along Parnell Fire Trail, Tomerang, about 20km south of Nowra, on the NSW South Coast.
A search warrant was later executed at an address in nearby Sanctuary Point.
The man was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with murder and has been refused bail to appear in court on Friday.
In breaking news on Friday morning, Chanel Seven’s Sunrise reported that human remains had been discovered in Sydney’s northwest.
