Hunt for killer after two men found dead

Police are hunting a killer on the loose after two men were found stabbed to death on a suburban Melbourne street.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths in Clyde North, in Melbourne’s outer south-east, on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to a property on Observatory Street shortly after 9.30pm following reports of an altercation.

On police arrival, they found two men with wounds consistent with a stabbing.

Medical treatment was provided. However, both died at the scene.

Neither man has yet been formally identified.

It is believed that a third male left the address before police arrived. A hunt is under way for him.

Police said they believed those involved in the incident knew each other.

A crime scene has been established while the investigation continues. Police are also speaking to other people who were at the property at the time.
