Two men have been charged in relation to missing Victoria teenager Isla Bell after the discovery of human remains.
Police made the grim find in Dandenong, south-east Melbourne late on Tuesday, after 46 days of searching for the 19-year-old.
Bell was last seen leaving her home in Brunswick, in Melbourne’s inner-north, on October 6 at about 6pm.
Missing persons squad detectives arrested three men on Tuesday after executing search warrants at two properties in Bentleigh East and Mulgrave.
A 53-year-old St Kilda man has been since been charged with murder, while a 57-year-old Hampton man has been charged with assist offender (murder).
A 63-year-old Mulgrave man was released pending further inquiries.
Bell’s family has been notified and police said they would ensure there was support for them.
The human remains are yet to be formally identified.
Bell’s friends and family had run an awareness campaign in the hope of finding her, desperate for any fragment of information.
They made posters that were shared online and pinned in public places, and raised money for the search to continue.

“There has been no activity on her bank account. No activity on her social media. Her phone has not pinged to any towers,” they posted in an update to the Help Us Find Isla Bell Facebook page on Sunday.
“It’s hard not to think the worst given the situation and the concerning circumstances in which she disappeared.”
Each day Bell’s family tallied how long it had been since they had seen her. Tuesday marked 46 days.
The family said she had last contacted friends via social media on October 7.
“Her conversation was abruptly stopped and her phone has not been on since, there have been no confirmed sightings since,” they said.
