A second person has been charged with murder over the hit-and-run death of Brisbane mum Keisha Thompson who was allegedly “deliberately” struck by a 4WD while walking home on a footpath.

Police allege the 23-year-old was mowed down by a silver Toyota LandCruiser Prado after dropping off her daughter at daycare, just before 9am on Friday in Daisy Hill in Brisbane’s south.

Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, was allegedly behind the wheel and was charged with murder, with police alleging she “deliberately drove at and struck her before fleeing the scene”.

Late on Monday, police laid a murder charge against a 24-year-old Acacia Ridge man who was also known to Thompson.

“Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a man at Logan Central on Monday,” Queensland Police said.

He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police said both of the accused were known to Thompson.

Court documents reveal the case is being treated as domestic violence, reports Channel Seven.

Thompson was taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, where she died on Friday night as a result of her injuries.

Thompson’s family fought back tears as they remembered the 23-year-old and vowed to take care of the “light of her life”, her baby daughter.

“She was taken from us in a cowardly act,” Koby Torto said of his sister on Monday.

Aunt Amanda Matthias described it as a “horrific and senseless act”.

Thompson’s sister, Keyara, said the pain of losing her sibling could not be put into words.

“We are struggling with the enormity of her absence in our life,” she said.

Torto said the family would rally around Thompson’s young daughter.

“My sister Kiesha had nothing short of a difficult life,” he said.

“But in the past couple of years, she worked tirelessly to create the best life, not only for her but her child who was the absolute light of her life.

“We are here to support her [daughter] throughout her whole life.”

The family have set up a GoFundMe account “so her daughter can have the best life”. They also requested they be left to “grieve in peace”.

Sant was remanded in custody after her matter was mentioned in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.

She will next appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 31.

Police continue to appeal for information, including anyone with dashcam vision, who was travelling in the Daisy Hill area near Allamanda Drive between 5-10am on Friday, July 19.
