Retired tennis great Ash Barty has announced her next career move as she cherishes her new role as mother to son Hayden.
The 27-year-old will release a picture book in March 2024 about a mother’s hopes and dreams for her new baby.
She teamed up again with writer Jasmin McGaughey and illustrator Jade Goodwin who collaborated on the bestselling Little Ash picture books series.
Publisher Harper Collins said the new book, My Dream For You, was a “heart-warming aspirational picture book”.
“A loving story about a mother’s hopes and dreams for her new baby.”
Barty said she was “so excited” for the release.
“It’s a celebration of the possibilities that await new babies, a testament to the hope that every parent holds, and a reminder that our dreams can shape a brighter future for our children,” she said.
“I hope new parents and their little ones love reading it as much as our family does.”
Barty and her husband, golf professional Garry Kissick, revealed in an Instagram post in July they were the proud parents of a “beautiful boy”.
“Welcome to the world, Hayden!,” it read, accompanied by a picture of the new arrival wrapped in a blanket.
The former world number one shocked the tennis world when she announced her retirement at the age of just 25 in March 2022.
With speculation rife about what she would do next, one of her first projects was the award-winning Little Ash series of children’s books.
