A woman has been killed in a suspected domestic violence incident at a western Sydney home.
Police were called to the property at Rooty Hill about 8.15pm on Tuesday with concerns for the woman’s welfare.
Officers from Mt Druitt arrived to find the woman dead.
NSW Police said on Wednesday morning the woman had not been formally identified, but she was believed to be aged in her 50s.
A 50-year-old man who was known to the woman was found with critical injuries.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
