A US jury has awarded $US55 million ($A74m) in damages to a prominent sports broadcaster after a stalker secretly filmed her nude in a hotel, media reports say.
Fox Sports reporter and co-host of Dancing With the Stars, Erin Andrews, had brought a $US75 million lawsuit against stalker Michael Barrett and the owner and operator of the Nashville Marriott, where the nearly five-minute video was filmed in 2008.

During her testimony in the high-profile case, Andrews — who worked for ESPN at the time of the incident — said that she had been left deeply traumatised and now checks out hotel rooms she stays in to avoid become victim again.
Barrett, who posted the footage of Andrews online, had previously pleaded guilty to stalking and was sentenced to prison time.
Andrews thanked the court and the jury, tweeting: “The support I’ve received from the people of Nashville has been overwhelming.”
“I would also like to thank my family, friends and legal team,” she wrote.
“I’ve been honoured by all the support from victims around the world.”
Andrews’ lawyers had argued that the hotel should not have told Barrett which room she was staying in, and should have prevented him from booking a room next to hers.
